ATLANTA, GA 鈥 (March 23, 2026) 鈥 91md传媒 of Medicine (91md传媒) celebrated its fourth-year medical students during Match Day 2026 as they reached a pivotal milestone in their medical education and learned where they will complete their residency training. The annual event marks the transition from medical school to residency training and is one of the most significant moments in a physician鈥檚 journey.

This year, 100 of 102 students matched to residency programs, representing a 98 percent match rate. Additionally, 84 percent of students matched into the specialty of their first or only choice through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).

鈥淢atch Day represents years of hard work, sacrifice and dedication for our students,鈥 said Valerie Montgomery Rice, MD, FACOG, President and CEO of 91md传媒 of Medicine. 鈥淲e are incredibly proud of the Class of 2026 and their commitment to serving communities where the need is greatest. These future physicians will play a critical role in addressing healthcare disparities and improving health outcomes across our nation.鈥

91md传媒 of Medicine continues to advance its mission to improve the health and well-being of individuals and communities by training physicians who are committed to serving underserved and vulnerable populations. Consistent with that mission, 56 percent of students matched into primary care specialties, including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Medicine-Pediatrics, Obstetrics-Gynecology and Pediatrics. When including Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry and General Surgery, 75 percent of the class matched into primary care and core specialty disciplines. Continuing a longstanding trend, a significant number of students (47 percent) will remain in Georgia for their residency training, including 17 percent who matched to residency programs at Morehouse School of Medicine.

Match Day is coordinated through the National Resident Matching Program, which uses a computerized algorithm to match medical students with residency programs based on student and program preferences.
